On behalf of all staff at Powwownow:
We should celebrate the single mindedness and originality of a man who everybody in the technology industry owes a debt. Without Steve Jobs, several of the most iconic products of the last forty years would not have seen the light of day. In choosing to work up until what he knew would be his final days, he always did exactly what he wanted to do, and on his own terms. The ability to step back and design a complete, innovative solution, to problems nobody knew even they had, marks him out as a visionary in a world where most improvement are merely incremental, and derivative.
With little flair in so many large technology companies, Apple, and indeed Steve Jobs managed to maintain an ethos and corporate culture that made them unique. Apple’s design aesthetic t marked them out amongst the herd, and not just once, but time and time again, led the company to create ground breaking products that were not just functional, but aesthetically beautiful too.
One of the brightest lights in the modern world will sadly shine no more, and so it’s with equal sadness and respect we say; Farewell Steve, you will not be forgotten.
