JOB TITLE: Social Media Strategist
SALARY: £30,000
WORKING HOURS: 40 hrs (Mon – Fri)
LOCATION: Richmond, SW London

REPORTS TO: PR Manager
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Marketing Director, Marketing Manager, Marketing Executive, SEO/SEM Business Analyst
OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB
• Working with a wide variety of social media work – 60:40 – implementation/strategy
• Responsible for delivery of social media marketing for Powwownow
• Adept at delivering discernable online profile raising
• Is an ambassador for Powwownow, internally and externally
• Is a key member of the company’s team, respected by peers, colleagues and members of the Management Team
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Communications, PR & Marketing
• 2-4 years related experience including significant time in social media field
• Experience of working with social media content within an integrated environment
• Strong copywriting skills
BEHAVIOURIAL SKILLS
• Must be highly inquisitive and excited by online media – desire to learn new things on a daily basis
• Is not afraid to challenge the status quo, and is solutions focused
• Is focused on adding value to clients, teams and the business
• Is commercially aware
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Social Media
• Must understand social media universe including Facebook, Linkedin, YouTube, StumbleUpon, Delicious, Digg, Reddit, Flickr, Forums, Twitter, Wikis, blogs, etc.
• Must monitor and research the wider media on a daily basis to extract relevant content for use in social media activites
• Must be fluent in social media tactics and techniques including blogger relations, community management, content creation/identification, seeding, digital optimisation, editorial, promotions, social media events etc.
• Must have a digital footprint/online presence – personal mix of participatory expertise from among these channels
• Must possess functional knowledge and/or some experience with HTML/CSS, SEO, Facebook & Linkedin self-serve ads
• Create and implement social media strategy, coordinating with teams and stakeholders across the Company to ensure its effectiveness and encouraging adoption of relevant social media techniques into the corporate culture and into all of the company’s products and services
• Manage presence in social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, and other similar community sites, posting on relevant blogs, and seeding content into social applications as needed
• Become an advocate of the Company in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate/authorised
• Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs, and analyse, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximise results
• Regularly feed back insights gained from social media monitoring into the teams, to help them evolve their strategies in a timely fashion
• Monitor trends in social media tools, trends and applications
• Editorial experience and a creative flair a bonus
