Why I have to have an iPad in my life

Well, where do I start…
I have always been into gadgets – got to have the latest phone, always on eBay looking for a good bargain, etc.

I had various iPods in the past and then got myself an Archos AV700 Portable Media Player a few years ago. It is brilliant – 100GB hard drive so I can take all my movies and music wherever I go; but even if it’s the best buy I’ve ever made, it’s getting a bit old now (battery is not lasting as it should). So I started looking around for a replacement and found that the Archos 5 Internet Tablet was released; so I could again carry all my movies and music with me but also have access to the internet as well – brilliant! So I started doing my research looking at what size I can get for what cost etc, to find exactly what I was looking for, and I was days away from buying the right one.

Then came the date of January 28 2010. I was at my mate’s house, MAD MICK (but that’s another story), heading off for our usual Thursday night drink when I got an e-mail on my Iphone to say Apple had a Keynote speech and had a new product out… Ok, I thought, I will take a look after I get back from the pub…

So 5 hours – and lots of beers – later, I am watching Steve Jobs telling us all about the IPAD.

That was it, I was hooked. Friday morning I was on the net finding everything I could about this new Apple product and when I could get my hands on one.

That was nearly 3 months ago and I am still waiting to get one. Has this put me off? Not a chance – this is an amazing device! Do I care it has no flash? NO; Do I care it has no front facing camera? NO; I just love it! It’s like my old Archos but has Apps. I have had PSPs and Nintendo DS’s for gaming, but until you have played Angry Birds on a iPad you have not lived!!!

Last week, after Paul & Andy (Powwownow‘s CEOs) came back from the States, I finally got my hands on one and it IS amazing; love everything about it….even more now that I have used one.

I will be pre ordering mine from Apple on the 10th May. I don’t know yet how much it will cost me as it still has no UK price, but I will have one.
