Powwownow, a 2013 Round-Up

23rd January 2014
By Jacqui Beel

It’s that time of year again where we reflect on all the great achievements of the year gone by and look to see what the future holds. 2013, was in fact another jam-packed year with so much going on and so many achievements.

The first point to highlight is the success of reaching a landmark million minutes every day for a full working week. We were very proud in 2012 when we hit several million minute days, but for a whole consecutive week was something we only dreamed about 10 years ago!

To further the portfolio of services to our customers we expanded our Plus service, now offering customers call minute bundles to save money on calls, as well as an additional service of personalised welcome messages.

We launched our very first video blog series, giving our expert advice and tips on multiple subjects for SMEs. As well as this, we also launched our very first Meeting Cost Calculator which now gives people the opportunity to work out how much face-to-face meetings actually cost and all in under the time it takes to order a coffee.

It wasn’t all work in 2013 though; we also did our bit for charity by taking part in an office triathlon, cycling, rowing or running the distance between Lands’ End and John O’Groats – raising a huge £6,091.25, a fantastic team effort.

The marketing team also had some fun with the play on the BA advert released in November 2013. Using the BA creative, the team played on the use of ridiculous hashtags and mocked up an advert to support the idea that you don’t need to travel to meetings to get the job done.

2013 ended on a high for Powwownow with the sale of the company to PGi, the global leader in collaboration and virtual meetings.  Joining forces with PGi expands the scale, reach and service options available to Powwownow customers.

So there you have it, a great 2013 with so many achievements for the business. So what does that mean for 2014? Well we turn the grand old age of 10 a little later this year and so we hope to celebrate in style. We have new products coming to market and don’t forget to keep an eye out for our new media campaign, focusing on our mission to help businesses get things done. With a new logo and creative campaign coming – 2014 is set to be an exciting and better than ever new year.
