Hosting a Web Conference
Are you ready to find out how easy it is to hold a web conference? Where you can show people the documents and programmes open on your screen? You bet you are. Let’s get to it:
Open up the application on your preferred device – it works across desktop and mobile, so you can host a web conference whether you’re in the office or on the go.
Click Start my meeting and your dedicated meeting room will open.
Choose how you want to talk to your participants; if you have a microphone and speakers, you can conduct the meeting over your device, or you also have the option to chat over a conference call. (Click here to find out how to set up a conference call).
Use the Invite button to email and invite your desired participants. They’ll be emailed with a URL that’ll take them to your meeting room online – no need to download anything!
Once they’ve joined the call, you can chat and screen share to your hearts content!
Web Conference Controls
You are the captain of your own web conferencing ship, so it’s best to get familiar with the controls. Decide who sees and does what with your screen. You have the power; use it wisely.
Switch on your webcam: After all, who doesn’t want to see your lovely face? Or, if your hair isn’t quite right, you can keep the cameras switched off; it’s entirely up to you.
Info: Share your social profiles and provide a short biography of yourself, so your participants can get to know the real you (just maybe keep that Tinder profile private…)
Raise hand: Lots of people speaking at once? Politely raise your hand and bring the conversation back on track.
Room Notes: It’s universally acknowledged truth that every web conference results in further actions. Keep track and email them to yourself using the Room Notes feature.
Chat: If you’re giving a presentation, you might not want to be interrupted verbally, but require the participant’s feedback. The chat room allows all of your participants to contribute to the conversation whilst you concentrate on wowing them with your presentation skills
Mute Others: Keep your participants schtum when you need to speak.

If you’ve had a meeting with them before, all you have to do is simply click on their profile and click “Join [Contact]’s Meeting”. Then, you’re ready to rumble.
